Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow Analysis for Turbulent Flow in Circular Pipe with Vortex Generator

Abstract The performance of heat transfer enhancement (HTE) using modified inserts (MIs) as a vortex generator in pipe flow and fluid analysis computational dynamics (CFD) are evaluated this article. MIs fastened to the central rod, circular sections touched wall test pipe. Heat analyses carried out for various pitch diameter ratios (P/D) angles MIs. P/D 3, 4 6 15°, 30°, 45°, 60° 90° considered experimental analysis. CFD is 45° 90°. Nusselt number (Nu/Nus) friction factor (f/fs) same Reynolds between 8000 17,000 study. encourage core be combined thus helps HTE. It found that, ratio increases, Nu/Nus f/fs decrease. If distance mixing weakens. With decreasing ratio, increases. Increased leads higher coefficient values pressure drop. A angle results greater interaction than others.
